This species is known from Honshu and Kyushu. Both females and males are usually apterous, but a few macropterous females have been obtained. The antennal segments III and IV each have two sense cones. There is only one pair of wing retaining setae on each intermediate abdominal tergite, which is unique within the genus. It is mainly collected from Phragmites australis at the riverside, but its life history, including feeding habits, is unknown.
